Hello and welcome to the first post on ShamanSystems.com. You can check out the about page, for a more detailed look at the legal implications of our community interest company, It seemed like a good idea to give a bit more of a personal take.

ShamanSystems CIC is first and foremost a community interest company. This legal status holds the perfect balance between a charity and an ordinary limited company. The company is dedicated to serving a section of the community, and the profits of the company are utilised, to benefit the community section further.

Basically, there is what's called an asset lock, which ensures that the majority of all profits are earmarked for further projects that benefit the community as a whole. So no buying a Lamborghini for us!

The company was incorporated on the 24th of January 2018, as a traditional limited company. It just seemed to make sense at the time, and as an experienced director, of my own ecologically focused company, it was a natural step. Over the months that followed as I began to consider the higher purpose and the motivation behind the company, I realise that the traditional capitalist model was not the best fit for the projects and activities that we have in mind.

On the 26th of June 2018 as a special resolution, the company converted to a community interest company and so it remains to this day. On a more personal note, it's one of the best things I've ever done.

So I was born in 1976 and so matured into Adulthood all through the 1980s, which for those who cannot remember or weren't even around then, they were the years where capitalism reigned supreme. The Cold war was coming to an end, and capitalism was revelling in its Victory. This meant that greed was King; the markets were becoming the master of Man... It was surely the decade of opulence, where children were often being named Mercedes or Porsche, and Gordon Gekko was the quintessential archetype of the era.

All of this, of course, embedded itself very deep into my subconscious, whereby somehow the quantity of money that one had access to, was intrinsically linked to the value of the person. In short, the more money a person had, the better a person they were. Even today much of this holds true.

So when I became inspired to pull my business experience together, to help others form profitable businesses themselves, and live creatively fulfilling lives, of course, it made sense to capitalise upon that idea Financially. But something just was not quite right...

I'm guessing it has a lot to do with who I decided to serve. Before ShamanSystems was formed, I'd already decided that I would only work with people and organisations, who are adding value to the world. The more and more I lined up with my heartfelt intention, the less and less the notion of capitalisation Was apparent.

It's not that I don't care about money or the quantity available to me; it's just that I care more about the quality of that money. I care more about the benefit I can add to others, rather than how much I get paid for adding that benefit.

As I said, this is the first post and so also early days. At the moment it's all theory, but I have faith that despite all the evidence to the contrary, if we lead with her hearts firstly, that all we ever need or desire, will surely follow secondly...

For those considering forming their own community interest company, as an alternative to a traditional business model, I can assure you it changes things completely...

Instead of looking to how little one can give, for the most amount one can receive.

The exact opposite becomes real because once profit is taken out of the equation, it's all about how much can one give and what's the least amount that we can ask for it. At first, it's a complicated thought process, and as I've mentioned, it is already opposed, by some intense capitalistic programming.

Seriously, it's more challenging than one would think. It first appears to be very counter-intuitive, but after a while, something exciting begins to happen... Or at least it has to me. Resources I never knew I had, that would never align to a greed-based motivation, have been revealed one after another, almost like my soul has woken from its quiet slumber.

I'm not sure how this is going to work out, but just wanted to say a more personal hello to those of you visiting here. I can only hope that you may experience our integrity, and share in our desire to help heal the collective consciousness of humanity.
